The rules keep changing, but here is a little update on what we know…
Shipping to the USA: New Tariffs & Zone Changes
From 29th August 2025, new regulations will affect how UK businesses sell and ship to customers in the United States. The U.S. government is removing the de minimis exemption, meaning all goods sent from the UK to U.S. buyers will now incur an additional import tariff.
Initially, this tariff will be set at approximately $80 / £60 per shipment, but it’s expected to rise after January 2026. As of now, the details remain somewhat unclear and subject to change, so we’ll continue monitoring updates and will share more as they become available.
Both Royal Mail and the US Postal Service are actively working to find a solution, but nothing has been finalised yet. So, with a heavy heart, we’re temporarily pausing shipments of hats to the USA.
This is absolutely a short-term measure, and as soon as a workable solution is confirmed, we’ll resume shipping across the Atlantic. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Shipping to the EU: GPSR Regulation Update
As of December 2024, the European Union’s new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) has come into effect. Under this regulation, UK-based businesses must appoint an EU-based representative to continue selling products within the EU.
Regrettably, this is not a cost we’re currently able to absorb, so we have paused shipping to the EU. We’re exploring options and hope to find a sustainable solution in the future.
Shipping to Northern Ireland
We have been working behind the scenes researching all these rule changes and the Windsor framework has been finalised and we are now able to ship to Northern Ireland!
